Adventures in Cross-Stitch - Geek and Punk Rock Style!

I never imagined that cross-stitching could be cool until I stumbled upon the etsy shop of innovative seller weelittlestitches. Once I saw the following Star Wars pattern, I had to try it.

Here is my mini version of their pattern. Not perfect, but it definitely makes me smile.

My Chewy, Han, and Leia Cross-Stitch

This seller has tons of geek and movie inspired patterns, so checking out their shop is well worth it. I may have to buy this Breakfast Club pattern next! Pixel People The Breakfast Club

Honestly, realizing that there were so many possibilities to this cross-stitch thing blew my mind a little and I tried to be creative in my next projects. Below is my tribute to the punk band, The Descendents, who I have loved since I was a teenager. I made my own simple pattern this time, based off an image.

Something only geeky punks might appreciate... The  Descendents Cross-Stitch!

And just for fun, I designed another simple pattern, a pleasant little robot dude.

And that sums up my first run with the cross-stitch. The bottom line, cross-stitching is no longer only your Grandmother's craft of choice. Be creative. Plenty of original patterns out there or just make your own.
